Lots of prep work needs to be done before any benchwork or track can be started.
First project is getting the lighting up. Once I get all the fixtures in place, the electrician will come and hookup everything up to the new circuits.
After the lighting, I can put up some ceiling to hide the ventilation ducts and keep the dust from upstairs off the layout.
Just a few shots to show how things are at this stage. Doesn’t look much like the Pfalzerwald!

Entrance to the train area

Door between the two rooms has been removed.
Still need to take down that short wall to the right of the door
otherwise Neuhemsbach will be split in two!

The “back room” where most of the layout will be.
The short module on the wall was for testing out layout heights.
That is where the Kaiserslautern/Mannheim staging will be.
The track in the foreground is my CNY-ETE bendtrack module under construction.

The rest of the back room. The board on the wall to the right is where Enkenbach will be.

The lighting is going up over Enkenbach. These are single bulb fluorescents,
there isn't enough room height for track lighting and these should generate less
heat. A valance will keep the light on the layout and not in the aisles (hopefully).
